Source Ortho was founded in 2012 by Elizabeth Willis and she is the current CEE (Chief Executive Everything). Elizabeth is a native of Charleston SC and a graduate of The College of Charleston. After a couple of years as a teacher, she began a family and was a stay at home mom for thirteen years to her four children. Her role as Mom and her unwillingness to say NO to any and all volunteer roles prepared her well to start and run a business. Elizabeth blended building a business with raising her family and could often be found packing boxes with a toddler underfoot or taking business calls while driving carpool or on from the bleachers of a swimming pool as her kids were all competitve year round swimmers. Three of her four kids have now launched into the world so she fills her time outside of Source Ortho with exercise (OTF and CorePower Yoga), friends and family.
Elizabeth saw how the traditional models of distributing medical equipment through medical supply companies and insurance billing were costing both everyday consumers and clinicians more out-of-pocket. She sought to create a platform that provides top-of-the-line medical equipment directly to those who need it at the best possible prices. Many of the products Source Ortho sells are not covered by insurance any longer and she believes that patients should be able to buy recovery products at the best possible price from a company who cares about patients and their recovery.
